6/22/10
We hope you are doing well. Thank you for praying for our meeting with the Head Teacher at the local primary school. Our meeting went very well. She is lovely and we like the school a lot. The boys started last week and are getting to go for the final few weeks of the term in hopes of getting familiar with the routine and meeting some of their classmates. They have all done very well so far and being a part of the school has been a natural connection to the community, for which we are thankful. Thank you again for praying for them and us. We are settling into the routine of living at Stanely House, the Paisley YWAM base, and are starting to relax a bit into the rhythm of life. Corbin began his DTS last week as well. So here is how you can pray for us these days: 1. Strength and health, especially for Corbin, as he (and we) keep a very full, tight schedule each week. 2. Grace for the kids as they continue to make the huge adjustment to being in school in another culture. Pray they will be lights in the world. 3. Pray for us to walk above the depression and hopelessness that is so prevalent here in Paisley. It is a lovely place, with a godly heritage. But all of that is covered up by quite a few layers of despair, frustration, and aimlessness. As His children, we get many opportunities to shine in the darkness around us everyday. 4. Strength, protection and blessing for Corbin and his class as they take their big hike for DTS. It is a 4 1/2 day, 62.5 mile trek and camping trip along St. Cuthbert's Way to Lindesfarne, Holy Island, where St. Aidan founded a monastic community in the 7th century and converted much of the pagan Anglo-Saxons to Christianity. It should prove to be an amazing experience. They will be gone the 25th of June through the 3rd of July. And pray for the kids and I as we stay behind at the house while the kids finish up the school year. 5. Please take some time over the next few weeks to ask God about what he is wanting to do in/with us in this season. We are being physically, spiritually, and emotionally challenged by the new demands we are facing. As a result, we are seeing the need to mobilize our team of intercessors (that would be you) to be used more strategically in our lives and for advancing the Kingdom in this place. We will following up more on this in the months ahead, but please give us any feedback God is sharing with you about us or Scotland. Thank you for your time and commitment to pray. We need the support very much and are honored to labor with you. Sincerely, Stacy and Corbin |
